LEAIC Learning Guide (SPSS): Extra practice
You now know how to find data from disparate sources, combine them using the LEAIC, and analyze the results. We already went over how to do this looking at homicide victimization for gender in age groups for each state that are 100% NIBRS. Now try on your own to find how homicide victimization differs among races. Use the same states but don’t worry about age or sex. Try to reuse the code and modify it to your needs. The additional variable you will need from NIBRS is V4020, Race of Victim. When you are done, compare your results to this Excel file (xlsx).
