2008-12-03 Stata setup and ready-to-go files have been added and the study has been made available for online analysis. The questionnaire was separated from the codebook into a separate document. Value labels for A5, C2, C3, D6A through D7D, K1 through K4, J12 and J22 have been corrected to include all values. SAS and Stata supplemental syntax files, a SAS transport (CPORT) file, an SPSS system file, and a Stata system file were added to this data collection.

1998-08-28 ICPSR data undergo a confidentiality review and are altered when necessary to limit the risk of disclosure. ICPSR also routinely creates ready-to-go data files along with setups in the major statistical software formats as well as standard codebooks to accompany the data. In addition to these procedures, ICPSR performed the following processing steps for this data collection:

  • Performed consistency checks.
  • Created variable labels and/or value labels.
  • Standardized missing values.
  • Created online analysis version with question text.
  • Checked for undocumented or out-of-range codes.
