The Russia Longitudinal Monitoring Survey (RLMS-HSE) is a series of nationally representative surveys designed to monitor the effects of Russian reforms on the health and economic welfare of households and individuals in the Russian Federation. These effects are measured by a variety of means: detailed monitoring of individuals' health status and dietary intake, precise measurement of household-level expenditures and service utilization, and collection of relevant community-level data, including region-specific prices and community infrastructure data. Data have been collected 19 times since 1992. Of these, 15 represent the RLMS Phase II, which has been run jointly by the Carolina Population Center at the University of North Carolina at Chapel Hill, headed by Barry M. Popkin, and the Demoscope team in Russia, headed by Polina Kozyreva and Mikhail Kosolapov.

The Study of Family Life in Urban China, also referred to simply as the "Three-City Survey," is a 1999 survey of urban residents in three large Chinese cities: Shanghai, Wuhan, and Xi'an. The study focused on the social and economic aspects of the family, particularly, the effects of economic reform on family life, cultural practices, and civic values.
