Parenting Influences on Child Self-regulation, Energy Intake, and Weight (ICPSR 35860)
Released/updated on: 2015-04-24
Geographic coverage: United States
In this project, a longitudinal design is employed to examine temporal relationships of child self-regulation, food intake, and weight status with parenting styles and practices in low-income Hispanic and African American families with preschoolers. In addition to parental self-reports, parenting and child eating behavior is assessed by standard observational methodology using established theoretical perspectives from developmental literature.
