New Wave of Tsogolo La Thanzi (TLT) Now Available!
The Tsogolo La Thanzi (TLT) series has been updated with the ninth wave of data. Wave nine is slightly different in that it is a refresher sample of women who were sampled but not enrolled at wave one, thus only entering the study in 2012. This was done to address attrition as well as to create the ability to compare the “treatment” effect of survey participation in waves one through eight.
The TLT datasets contain information on relationships, religion, HIV/AIDS, politics, family composition, mental health, sex and protection, pregnancy, marriage, sexually transmitted diseases, future expectations, school enrollment status, goods purchased/received, and diet. Modules specific to the recently released wave include background, residency and migration, travel, and parent information.
TLT is a longitudinal study in Balaka, Malawi designed to examine how young people navigate reproduction during an AIDS epidemic. TLT utilized an intensive longitudinal design where respondents were interviewed every four months. Future waves of TLT data are planned for release through DSDR.
