July 22 Webinar: How to Use TransPop Data
Join us for a virtual presentation of TransPop, the first national probability sample of transgender individuals in the United States. During this ICPSR-hosted webinar, you'll learn how to use these data to reach your own groundbreaking results.
The TransPop study not only describes the demographic make-up of the transgender population and their experiences related to identity and transition, but also aims to provide information on areas like health outcomes, health care access, quality of life, and experiences with discrimination.
In addition to being the first national probability sample of transgender individuals in the United States, TransPop also includes a comparative cisgender sample. A primary goal of this study was to provide researchers with a representative sample of transgender people in the United States. The study examines a variety of health-relevant domains including health outcomes and health behaviors, experiences with interpersonal and institutional discrimination, identity, transition-related experiences, and basic demographic characteristics (age, race/ethnicity, religion, political party affiliation, marital status, employment, income, location, sex, gender, and education).
This webinar is free and open to the public. A live transcript will be available. The webinar will be recorded, and the recording and slides will be sent to all registrants after the webinar.
TransPop is funded by a grant from the Eunice Kennedy Shriver National Institute of Child Health and Human Development (NICHD R01HD090468). It is also supported by the National Institute of Health, Office of Social and Behavior Science, the Office of Research on Women's Health, and NICHD as part of a supplemental grant for a larger five-year study, "Generations."
