New Waves of Tsogolo La Thanzi (TLT) Now Available!
The Tsogolo La Thanzi (TLT) series has been updated with the fifth, sixth, and seventh waves of data. Each wave consists of three restricted-use datasets on (1) women, (2) their male partners, and (3) a random sample of men. These datasets contain information on relationships, religion, HIV/AIDS, politics, family composition, mental health, sex and protection, pregnancy, marriage, sexually transmitted diseases, future expectations, school enrollment status, goods purchased/received, and diet. Modules specific to the recently released waves include:
- Fifth Wave (ICPSR 37832): Best friend characteristics, health services, treatment optimism, travel, relationship power, and relationship scripts
- Sixth Wave (ICPSR 37828): Best friend characteristics, health services, treatment optimism, and travel
- Seventh Wave (ICPSR 37831): Best friend characteristics, health services, treatment optimism, travel, literacy with an expanded education section (interrupted education)
TLT is a longitudinal study in Balaka, Malawi designed to examine how young people navigate reproduction during an AIDS epidemic. TLT utilized an intensive longitudinal design where respondents were interviewed every four months. Future waves of TLT data are planned for release through DSDR.
