College and Beyond II Data Workshop
Dates: June 5-June 7, 2023
10:00 AM - 4:00 PM
This workshop will be held in-person in Ann Arbor, MI, with no hybrid component. Successful applicants will receive a travel stipend and lodging! The deadline to apply is March 1 at 8PM EST.
This three-day workshop will provide participants with an introduction to the College and Beyond II (CBII) study at ICPSR. CBII is a data resource for studying the impact and outcomes of higher education. Workshop sessions will provide an overview of CBII’s purpose and study design. Each day will include guided exercises that build participants’ familiarity with the data and documentation. Instructors will provide examples of previous uses of the data and offer consultations that help participants explore their own research questions. Researchers will leave the course ready to implement their own CBII research project. See the full course description for more information.
Prerequisites:
Substantive interest in one or more of the following topics: undergraduate student experiences, persistence, and success; curricular analytics; student pathways; outcomes of higher education. Familiarity with large datasets and experience utilizing codebooks to understand the purpose and use of a dataset. Working knowledge of a major statistical software package.

Register for the course waitlist in the ICPSR Summer Program Registration Portal (opens February 13)

Apply for access to CBII data in the ICPSR Virtual Data Enclave (VDE)
Registration fee: There is no registration fee for accepted participants. Accepted participants will receive a travel stipend, lodging, and a 1-year Virtual Data Enclave (VDE) user license.
