Sample NACJD IDARS Restricted Data Use Agreement A fully executed NACJD Restricted Data Use Agreement is required for restricted data access. While you are welcome to reference this form as a sample, please use the version of the Data Use Agreement that is provided within the online application portal. Principal Investigators must also complete Appendix C, D, or E according to the selected Confidential Data Security Plan.
NIJ Privacy Certificate for NACJD Applicants A fully executed NIJ Privacy Certificate is required for IDARS applicants who wish to access NIJ-sponsored restricted data. Because NACJD data are considered potentially identifiable, responses of N/A are not acceptable. Detailed guidance and suggested responses for the privacy certificate can be found as an appendix at the bottom of the privacy certificate PDF.
Annual Report Template Each year, researchers are required to submit an annual report listing any publications or presentations that made use of restricted data. A final report covering the same information must also be submitted upon termination of the project.
Request for Extension of IDARS DUA If at the end of the 24-month agreement, the research project still requires access to secure download restricted data, the Investigator must submit a request for an extension for an additional 24 months. If the IRB has expired, current approval documentation must be included. A new Restricted Data Use Agreement is required after six (6) cumulative years of renewed data access under the initial agreement terms.
Affidavit of Data Destruction At the end of the 24-month agreement or once the research project has terminated (whichever comes first), the Investigator must destroy all restricted data files and submit an Affidavit of Data Destruction via IDARS in accordance with the Data Use Agreement. VDE users are exempt from this requirement, as VDE access is automatically terminated upon expiration of the VDE Data Use Agreement.
