As an Official Representative (OR) for ICPSR at Wellesley College Science Librarian institution, Jillian Amaral helps promote ICPSR resources on campus and assists data users in locating, downloading, and working with ICPSR data. Get to know Jillian:

What is a favorite memory or instance you have working with ICPSR? What makes ICPSR a great place?

Finally meeting folks from ICPSR at ACRL in 2023 – I was SO excited to meet Jen and tell someone at ICPSR how much I loved participating in Love Data Week!

Where are you from?

I am the Science Librarian at Wellesley College in Wellesley, Massachusetts

What is your favorite part of working with ICPSR?

I am a member of the international planning committee for Love Data Week. I love the collaborations with the amazing folks from ICPSR and meeting and learning from fantastic people from around the world, excited about data and data literacy!

How long have you worked with ICPSR?

I co-organized my first Love Data Week in 2022.

What do you do when not at work?

As a Librarian, of course, I am a voracious reader! I am also a Girl Scout leader (entering year 11!), parent to one amazing human and two opinionated Siamese cats, avid quilter/crafter, and love to travel.

What have you read/viewed/listened to/etc. recently?

I love fiction, especially mystery and spy books! I also enjoy watching shows on PBS Mystery and enjoyed Astrid, Annika, and Grantchester.

What might surprise us about you?

In my 20s, I volunteered at the Boston Museum of Science and did animal demos with a ball python.
