What is your ICPSR Job Title?
Information Resources Specialist Intermediate
What is a favorite memory or instance you have working at ICPSR? What makes ICPSR a great place to work?
I really appreciate how the different teams and units are able to come together and celebrate milestones, both professional and personal. One of my favorite memories is celebrating the Bibliography reaching 100,000 citations in 2021. We've only been back in the office for a couple of months, but we were able to celebrate with cake and with many of our colleagues from across ICPSR.
Where are you from?
I was born in Nyiregyhaza, Hungary. It's an Ann Arbor-size town an hour from three other countries (Slovakia, Ukraine, and Romania).
What is your favorite part of your job?
Being part of a community of professionals who further social science research. I also enjoy reading some of the latest literature in various topics as part of my everyday work. I find the study of successful aging and cognition especially fascinating.
How long have you worked here?
It will be five years at the end of July.
What do you do when not at work?
I am somewhere outdoors with my daughter. We really enjoy Ann Arbor parks. I also spend my time working my way through tons of saved recipes to cook or bake.
What have you read/viewed/listened to/etc. recently?
I'm currently listening to "How to Talk So Little Kids Will Listen" (wish me luck). I'm also looking forward to starting "Invitation to a Banquet: the Story of Chinese Food" by Fuchsia Dunlop and many other books on my holds list at AADL.
What might surprise us about you?
I majored in Chinese language and culture in college and spent a year studying Mandarin Chinese in Hangzhou, Zhejiang.
