Longitudinal: Cohort / Event-based

Patients were included in the study sample if they were 18 to 64 years old at the time of being hospitalized. Patients were initiated on methadone or buprenorphine by the addiction medicine consult service between May 2019 and December 2021, were insured by Washington State Medicaid at the time of the hospitalization, and provided self-report information about their past 30-day methamphetamine use in structured interviews completed around the time of MOUD initiation.

Government Performance and Results Act (GPRA) Client Outcome Measures for Discretionary Program interviews, typically completed within about 4 days of initiation of medications for opioid use disorder.
