Who needs to use the SOMAR VDE?

Several of SOMAR’s datasets contain sensitive or personally-identifiable information, and are restricted to use only in the SOMAR Virtual Data Enclave (VDE). Any researcher accessing one of these datasets must access and analyze the data in the SOMAR VDE.

When you find a SOMAR dataset to use for your research, the “Additional Notes” field will explain any access restrictions on the data, including if the data are public or restricted to the SOMAR VDE.
