If you have published or presented research using data from SOMAR, please email your citation to somar-help@umich.edu. Sharing your work helps us track the impact of our data and increases the visibility of your research.

Deposit Data

SOMAR welcomes deposits of research data from or about social media platforms. Submit your dataset or see our FAQs for more information. Our submission form only accepts public data at this time. To deposit sensitive or identifiable data that may require access restrictions, email us at somar-help@umich.edu.

We are a team of dedicated researchers, scholars, and specialists committed to preserving, studying, and providing equitable access to the vast amount of data generated on social media platforms every day. Our team is led by Dr. Libby Hemphill, a renowned expert in the field of social media research and data curation. Dr. Hemphill has been working in this field for over a decade and has published numerous papers and articles on the topic.
