What do I do if I have trouble logging in?

I’ve lost my password and the “Request your password” function isn’t working for me. What do I do?

  1. Try a private browser
    • If you continue to have trouble logging in, please try using a private or “incognito” browser window. If you are able to log in successfully, you may need to clear the cookies and/or cache in your browser of choice (this may be found under “delete browsing data” or similar).
  2. Contact your IT support team
  3. Use a different login option
    • While this is being fixed, you can:
    • Go back to the homepage and choose “Sign in with email.”
    • If you had a MyData profile, use the same email and create a new password.
    • You can also sign in with Google, ORCID, or LinkedIn.
  4. Still having trouble? Contact us
    • If you still can’t log in using one of these options, please email us at ICPSR-help@umich.edu. We’re happy to assist you!

I’ve lost my password and the “Request your password” function isn’t working for me. What do I do?

Email ICPSR-help@umich.edu. The “request your password” function emails the password to the email address specified in your Researcher Passport account. If that account is no longer active, an ICPSR staff member will need to go in and manually change that email address for you, and then have a password sent to the correct address. It’s also a good idea to make sure that any spam filters you have installed aren’t inadvertently deleting email from ICPSR.
