This special-topic poll is part of a continuing series of monthly surveys that solicit public opinion on the presidency and on a range of other political and social issues. This data collection assessed President Ronald Reagan's performance in office and measured respondents' opinions of Reagan and other political leaders, such as Jerry Brown, Ralph Nader, Coretta King, George Bush, Walter Mondale, and Alexander Haig. Respondents rated Reagan on his intelligence, integrity, leadership capabilites, handling of foreign policy and environmental issues, and relations with Congress. Respondents were also questioned about the state of the United States economy and military spending under the Reagan administration. Demographic information was collected, including respondent's race, age, sex, education and income levels, and religious affiliation.
