The purpose of the study was to collect perceptions of depression screening from public health clinic staff members.

Researchers at the University of Illinois School of Social Work recruited various public health clinic staff members via volunteer sign-up. Participants were informed researchers were conducting a series of focus group interviews to learn staff perceptions on perinatal screening and told volunteers would receive a $20 gift card for their time.

The recruitment for participants was completed via voluntary sign-up sheets.
