This database and the related web based map application consist of easily searchable, cleaned and standardized data scraped from the European Court of Human Rights online database (HuDOC). The records cover all judgments of violations and nonviolations from the Court’s first cases through judgments delivered through October 24 2021. The .csv file includes fields for case name, application number, country, conclusion (violation/nonviolation); article number, paragraph number, importance (based on the HuDOC key); and date of judgment. The Voice of the People Survey Series is WIN/Gallup International Association's End of Year survey and is a global study that collects the public's view on the challenges that the world faces today. Ongoing since 1977, the purpose of WIN/Gallup International's End of Year survey is to provide a platform for respondents to speak out concerning government and corporate policies.
The Voice of the People, End of Year Surveys for 2012, fielded June 2012 to February 2013, were conducted in 56 countries to solicit public opinion on social and political issues. Respondents were asked whether their country was governed by the will of the people, as well as their attitudes about their society. Additional questions addressed respondents' living conditions and feelings of safety around their living area, as well as personal happiness. Respondents' opinions were also gathered in relation to business development and their views on the effectiveness of the World Health Organization. Respondents were also surveyed on ownership and use of mobile devices. Demographic information includes sex, age, income, education level, employment status, and type of living area.

New York City Trafficking Assessment Project, 2007-2008 (ICPSR 31601)

The purpose of the New York City Trafficking Assessment Project (NYCTAP) was to develop a screening tool to identify likely victims of trafficking and an accompanying toolkit for service providers to support the administration of the screening tool. The NYCTAP Community Advisory Board (CAB) consisted of twelve local organizations, including four social service agencies, four legal service agencies, three community-based organizations, and one advocacy organization. In May and June of 2007, (Part 1, Community Advisory Board (CAB) Agency Reviews Qualitative Data) a draft of the screening tool was circulated among the CAB agencies for review. The reviewers were asked to evaluate the screening tool for comprehensiveness, section organization, question wording, and question placement. The draft NYCTAP screening tool was also circulated among law enforcement agencies at the federal and local level in November and December of 2007. Reviewers (Part 3, Law Enforcement Agency Reviews Qualitative Data) were asked to review the screening tool from the perspective of federal and local law enforcement and to suggest modifications and additions to screening tool content. In October and November of 2007, semi-structured interviews (Part 2, Community Advisory Board (CAB) Agency Interviews Qualitative Data) were conducted with two CAB agencies that were unable to participate in the field application of the screening tool, but had extensive experience in trafficking victim assistance that could be shared. In January and February of 2008, (Part 4, Community Advisory Board (CAB) De-briefings Qualitative Data) six of participating CAB agencies that applied the draft NYCTAP screening tool in their work with clients were asked to provide feedback on the overall usability of the screening tool, as well as tool content and tool administration.

Survey of Truth and Reconciliation in South Africa, 2000-2001 (ICPSR 4030)

The purpose of this study was to explore the relationship between truth acceptance and reconciliation among South Africans during and since the political transition from Apartheid to democracy. The study investigated the extent to which South Africans participated in the truth as promulgated by the Truth and Reconciliation Commission and the degree to which they were "reconciled." The Truth and Reconciliation Commission (TRC) was based on the Promotion of National Unity and Reconciliation Act of 1995. The TRC investigated past gross human rights violations and granted amnesty to individuals in exchange for full and public disclosure of information related to these crimes. The hypothesis that truth acceptance leads to reconciliation was tested in this research. Data were collected through a rigorous and systematic survey of South Africans. Nearly all relevant segments of the South African population were included in the sample, as well as representative subsamples of at least 250 respondents of most major racial/ethnic/linguistic groups. Questions about the TRC investigated respondent awareness, knowledge, and approval of the activities of the TRC. Respondents were asked for their opinions on the effectiveness of the TRC in its efforts to provide a true and unbiased account of South Africa's history and in awarding compensation to those who suffered abuses under the Apartheid regime. Other questions about the TRC asked respondents how important it was to find out the truth about the past and achieve racial reconciliation. Demographic variables include age, marital status, education level, and employment status.
