Assessing the Implementation and Cost of High Quality Early Care and Education Project (ICHQ) Field Test, United States, 2021 (ICPSR 38949)

Released/updated on: 2025-03-19
Geographic coverage: United States, Colorado, Arkansas, Arizona, Pennsylvania

Mathematica conducted a field test for the Assessing the Implementation and Cost of High Quality Early Care and Education (ICHQ) Project. The goals of the field test were to:

  • Refine implementation measures to further improve and establish their psychometric properties
  • Refine cost measures to identify costs associated with each key function and across ages of children
  • Test the associations between implementation, cost, and quality measures.

The research team recruited a purposive sample of 80 centers in Arizona, Arkansas, Colorado, and Pennsylvania to participate in the field test and conducted data collection from April to December 2021. Implementation interviews (DS2) were conducted by phone with either one or a few key staff who knew the most about the center's operations and educational program. Cost data (DS5) were collected in an electronic spreadsheet by staff who knew the most about each center's finances. A web-based time-use survey collected information about how all teaching staff and select center administrators spend their time in activities related to providing early care and education services (DS3). The research team also conducted a center engagement interview to gather information about center characteristics (DS1), and an additional survey of all teaching staff (the same respondents identified for the time-use survey) to assess their perceptions of center practices and the work environment (DS4).

Released/updated on: 2018-01-15
Geographic coverage: United States
Time period: 2006-01-01--2013-01-01
The Food and Fitness Survey is part of the larger Bridging the Gap (BTG) research program, which is a research initiative funded by the Robert Wood Johnson Foundation. The primary goals of the Food and Fitness survey project were to obtain nationally representative information on school practices, and to obtain information about the association between district-level wellness policies and practices in those schools. Food and Fitness involved annual surveys of school-level respondents at elementary schools from the 2006-07 to the 2012-13 school years. This study contains data from these surveys for public and private elementary schools from the 2006-07 to the 2012-13 school years. Topics of the surveys include school characteristics, school meal options and prices, food advertisements in schools, food practices in classrooms and school functions, meal times during the day, physical education facilities and curriculum, methods of transportation to and from school, school wellness policies, school beverage guidelines, the "Nutritional Guidelines for Competitive Foods", school vending machines, and a la carte as well as school store food and beverage offerings.

Demographic, Social, Educational and Economic Data for France, 1833-1925 (ICPSR 7529)

Released/updated on: 2010-04-27
Geographic coverage: France, Global
Time period: 1833-01-01--1925-01-01
Prepared by ICPSR under a project to automate major portions of the Statistique Generale de la France, this is a collection of demographic, social, education, economic, population, and vital statistics data for France, 1833-1925. This conversion project is a continuation of one conducted in 1972, for which a similar data collection was created, SOCIAL, DEMOGRAPHIC, AND EDUCATIONAL DATA FOR FRANCE, 1801-1897 (ICPSR 0048). The project to collect and prepare these data was sponsored by two French and two American groups: ICPSR and the Center for Western European Studies at the University of Michigan, and the Fourth and Sixth Sections of the Ecole Pratique des Hautes Etudes and Conseil National de la Recherches Scientifique in France. Both collections include data recorded at the departement, arrondissement, chef-lieu, and ville level. In this collection, materials from the vital statistics series were prepared for selected years rather than for each year in the period from 1900-1925. The years that were chosen clustered around the quinquennial censuses and also included (because of the violent demographic dislocations produced by World War I) each year in the 1914-1919 period. In addition, some vital statistics for the nineteenth century (1836-1850, 1880, and 1892) obtained from fugitive published volumes that could not be located during the course of the 1972 project were prepared. The 136 datasets in this collection contain: (1) French population, economic, and social data obtained from the quenquennial censuses of 1901, 1906, 1911, and 1921, that detail the composition of the population by categories of age, sex, nativity, marital status, religion, place of residence, and occupation, (2) industrial census data for the years 1861-1896, (3) data on primary education in France for 1833, 1901, and 1906, as well as data on secondary and higher education in France for the years 1836-1850, 1880, and 1892, and (4) data from a separate series of annual vital statistics (Mouvement de la Population) that cover the years 1836-1850, 1892, and 1900-1925, citing births, deaths, and marriages in the nation.

Ithaka S+R US Faculty Survey 2012 (ICPSR 34651)

Released/updated on: 2016-12-21
Geographic coverage: United States
Time period: 2012-09-10--2012-10-15
This collection represents the fifth cycle of the US Faculty Survey conducted by Ithaka S+R in fall 2012. Investigators surveyed a random sample of higher education faculty members to learn about their attitudes and practices related to research, teaching, and communicating. The fifth cycle differs from previous releases in two significant regards: the questionnaire was developed with input from an advisory committee of academic professionals, and the methodology was revised to take advantage of online distribution and response collection. Demographic and professional information collected includes respondent age, sex, title, primary academic field, number of years working in primary academic field, number of years working at current college or university, and whether the respondent primarily identifies as a researcher, a teacher, or some combination of roles.
