This special-topic poll is part of a continuing series of monthly surveys that solicit public opinion on the presidency and on a range of other political and social issues. This data colletion focuses on President Ronald Reagan, Libya, and the economy. Respondents were asked to evaluate Reagan's presidency and his handling of the nation's economy, to give their opinions of United States relations with Libya, and to assess the impact of Reagan's economic policies on their personal financial situations. Demographic information including respondent's race, age, household income, and educational level was collected.

This special-topic poll is part of a continuing series of monthly surveys that solicit public opinion on the presidency and on a range of other politcal and social issues. This data collection probes respondents' opinions of President Ronald Reagan, Vice President George Bush, and Secretary of State Alexander Haig. Respondents were also asked about their support of handgun control in the wake of the attempted assassination of President Reagan. Respondents' race, education level, and age were also recorded.

This study contains data on 409 assassination events that occurred in 84 countries in the period 1948-1967. The data cover plotted, attempted, or actual assassinations of prominent public figures, such as top government officeholders and military figures, leaders of large trade unions or religious movements, and leaders of minority groups. For each event, information is provided on the country, date, and location of occurrence, the issue involved, the identity of the assassin and of the target, such as the type of group to which the assassin belonged and the political and social position of the target, and the outcome of the event.
