Resource Center for Minority Data

RCMD is committed to the preservation and public dissemination of high-quality data, helping to support rigorous, inclusive research. The center also aims to foster a vibrant, collaborative community of scholars, policymakers, and others engaged in minority-related research and inquiry.

The Resource Center for Minority Data (RCMD) is an initiative of ICPSR developed in response to the increasing complexity of race and ethnicity research in the United States. As the nation’s demographic landscape continues to evolve, RCMD supports the growing need for data that reflects the diverse experiences of racial and ethnic minority communities.

Originally focused on curating existing data from ICPSR’s archives, RCMD has expanded its scope since the late 1990s to include a broader range of studies and topics relevant to historically underrepresented groups.
