Abortion

Abortion was not one of the most prominent issues in the 2020 election. However, the candidates differed on this issue, and their differences reflected the usual dissimilarities between Democrats and Republicans on abortion. Biden supported keeping abortion legal and opposed attempts to make it more difficult for women to exercise their reproductive rights. As President, Trump was opposed to abortion and nominated three pro-life justices to the Supreme Court. He also enacted regulatory change that prevented federal funding for Planned Parenthood.
