Zoom FAQ for Webinar Attendees
- Ask Questions during Session: Use the questions box at the bottom of your Zoom window to type in questions at any time. Additional information is available from Zoom.
- Show/Hide Live Transcript: Click on the “more” button and select “caption”. Mobile and tablet devices may not be able to hide the transcript.
- ASL: If there are ASL interpreters in your webinar, it may be helpful to “pin” their video. Hover your mouse over their video and click the button with three dots (“…”). Select “pin.” Additional information is available from Zoom.
- Mobile and tablet users: Please note that the Zoom app currently only allows a view of the active speaker. The captioning will still be viewable, but if possible, you may wish to view the webinar from a desktop to ensure the ability to view multiple presenters.
- Screen readers: Please review instructions from Zoom. You may also be interested in Zoom’s list of Hot Keys and Keyboard Shortcuts.
- Change view: Use the “view” button on the top right of your Zoom screen to select your preferred option, such as gallery view or speaker view
- Show/Hide Presenter’s Video: Locate where the Zoom system says “you are viewing the presenter’s screen.” – You’ll see a “view options” section, and then click “hide video panel.” Additional information is available from Zoom.
- Audio Issues: On the left side of your Zoom screen, click the up arrow on the “mute” button. Then review audio settings. Additional information is available from Zoom.
- Mute Video Sound: You can “mute computer sound” if a video is too loud. When a video is being shown, you’ll have an option for “more” and the option to “mute computer sound.” Additional information is available from Zoom.
