Lay All Your Love on Me(tadata): A New API for Discovery

ICPSR maintains 60+ years of curated social science research data, and a major challenge is helping users find and reuse it. To improve discovery, ICPSR developed a metadata export API that programmatically delivers study-level metadata in multiple standards-based formats for use in local catalogs, discovery tools, and research workflows, expanding reach and supporting FAIR principles. This presentation demonstrates how to query the API, what results it returns, and how it improves on prior ICPSR metadata distribution methods, with guidance for integrating ICPSR data into other platforms.
