Granting VDE Access to Institutional Support

To assist with code / statistical errors, and in setting up packages / environments, members of the project’s institutional support teams (e.g. IT, Statistician) may be added to their VDE Application.

Cost

  • Individuals who are added to the VDE Application AND meet training requirements may sit with a project member who has a VDE license without needing a license of their own.
    • Note: In this instance, the member with the VDE license is present at all times.  VDE credentials MAY NOT be shared.
  • If a support individual needs their own logon to the VDE, a short-term credential may be provided free of charge.

How to Add a member of Institutional Support to the VDE

  • Contact icpsr-help@umich.edu with the following details:
    • VDE application #
    • PI last name 
    • Name(s) of new team members to be added
    • CV/Resume for all new team members to be added
    • Other documents may be required depending on the topical archive.
    • All new team members must complete the VDE training following current ICPSR protocols.
  • Once all of this has been reviewed and approved by ICPSR, we will provide instructions on how to request a license for the new team member(s).
  • NOTE: all new support staff must be affiliated with the same institution as the project PI. If additional support is needed from a team member outside of the PI’s institution, a separate RDUA and additional steps will be required.
