What is a favorite memory or instance you have working at ICPSR? What makes ICPSR a great place to work?

My favorite memory is watching my team come together to tackle the Umich internet outage last August. My favorite part of working here is how well folks treat one another. Those who are different never have to worry about being treated differently.

What is your favorite part of your job?

There’s always a new and exciting problem to solve.

How long have you worked here?

Just over 8 months!

What do you do when not at work?

I’m a hobbyist chef and maker. I love to prototype and build props, especially replicas of things from TV or Movies..

What have you read/viewed/listened to/etc. recently?

I just rewatched Dave Grohl’s documentary “Sound City.” It’s a spectacular deep dive into the effects that one recording studio had on music in the United States.

What might surprise us about you?

I’m a big fan of extremely spicy food and have built up enough tolerance to be able to consume incredibly hot peppers like Carolina reapers and scorpion peppers.

Anything else that you’d like to share with us?

I’m a giant 3D printing nerd and have a deep interest in automated manufacturing. My workshop features everything from 3D printers, to a medium format CNC router, to a 50w laser, to a full set of woodworking tools. I adore the ability to make things and constantly strive to increase my “maker” skillset.
