The 2021-2022 Study of Family and Staff Well-Being in Head Start FACES Programs (2021-2022 study) (https://myumi.ch/XGEZD), builds on the Head Start Family and Child Experiences Survey (FACES), which has been a source of national information about Head Start programs and participants since 1997 The new study aims to describe:
- Children and families who participate in Head Start—families’ resources and needs, parent’s mental well-being, and
- children’s cognitive and social-emotional skills;
- Changes or trends in those characteristics over the course of one program year during the COVID-19 pandemic;
- Factors or characteristics that might explain differences in children’s skills and development and family experiences;
- Characteristics and mental well-being of Head Start teachers;
- Staff recruitment and retention, including staff compensation and benefits; and
- Impact of the COVID-19 pandemic on program operations and emergency
preparedness. The webinar provides researchers and analysts with:
- An overview of the study
- Information on data collection and measures;
- Information on the study data files and data user resources;
- Considerations when using the study data;
- Information on accessing the data
