Explore the data Productive Americans: Working and Planning, 1965 (ICPSR 7438) this Labor Day!

This study focused on the total economic effort of families, the outside constraints and inner desires that affected that effort, and the attitudes and views that might have an impact on the quantity and the efficiency of work. Information was obtained about the extent to which families worked, planned ahead, accepted change, avoided risk, and kept a realizable set of goals. Respondents were asked about the kinds of work they did, their level of job satisfaction, their desire and opportunity to work more hours, their job history and any plans for changing to another type of job, and their plans for future retirement or present experience if already retired.
