ICPSR and Make Data Count Collaborate to Elevate the Impact Of Data in the Social Sciences
By ICPSR Staff
Through a collaboration between Make Data Count and ICPSR, citations for social science datasets identified and curated by ICPSR are now included in the Data Citation Corpus, which aggregates data citations from multiple sources. Check out Make Data Count’s interview with ICPSR’s Elisabeth Shook about this collaboration and ICPSR’s work tracking the reuse of datasets.
Q: Make Data Count and ICPSR agreed to collaborate so that the data citations that ICPSR hosts could be incorporated into the Data Citation Corpus. Why was ICPSR interested in contributing these citations to the Corpus?
A: By contributing to the Data Citation Corpus, we are amplifying the impact of data distributed by ICPSR, and we are proud to support open science. The Corpus is a great example of improving infrastructure and interoperability so that all research outputs can be discovered and counted.
