6/4/24: Upcoming Free one-day workshop on COMBINE study - Accessing/Using Clinical Trial Data from PCODR & Other Data Sources: Highlighting the COMBINE Study (July 22, 2024 - In-person or online). This one-day workshop will provide an overview of accessing and using clinical trial data from the Patient-Centered Outcomes Data Repository (PCODR) and other related data sources, such as PCORNet and the ImproveCareNow (ICN) registry. An in-depth overview of the design and implementation of the PCORI-funded Comparing the Safety and Effectiveness of Medicines to Treat Crohn’s Disease in Children and Adolescents (The COMBINE Trial) will be covered to support the reuse of these data. 6/14/23: Application Extended! - Overview and Data Analysis Examples of the CODA Randomized Clinical Trial Summer Program Workshop

Come experience this unique opportunity to learn how to access clinical data through PCODR! This workshop will provide an in-depth overview of the design and implementation of the PCORI-funded Comparison of Outcomes of Antibiotic Drugs and Appendectomy randomized clinical trial in order to support reuse. The morning lectures will present the design and methods used in the two primary study publications and examples of secondary analysis of the study data will be included. Each afternoon, attendees will have hands-on experience working with the data centering on guided exercises using de-identified CODA data. Consultation for exploring your own research interests using CODA data will be available. Early career participants are especially encouraged to apply for this workshop. Prerequisites: Substantive interest in health-related research. Familiarity with health-related datasets, experience utilizing codebooks to understand the purpose and use of a dataset, and experience defining and operationalizing research questions. Working knowledge of at least one of the major statistical software packages (SPSS, Stata, SAS, or R) will be required for understanding course examples.

9/26/22: PCODR presented during ICPSR's 2022 Data Fair. The presentation highlighted the data and resources available to researchers around the world to encourage scientifically rigorous secondary use of the Patient-Centered Outcomes Research Institute (PCORI) funded clinical research data to foster scientific advances and ultimately improve clinical care and patient outcomes. The speaker also talked about the development of an Independent Review Committee and the transparency of posting approved secondary data use applications on the PCODR website.
