CivicLEADS and Stanford Center on Adolescence to present data training workshop at the 2018 AERA Annual Meeting
CivicLEADS staff will join Drs. Heather Malin and William Damon of the Stanford Center on Adolescence to present a professional development course at the 2018 American Educational Research Association's (AERA's) Annual Meeting, Monday, April 16, 2018 from 8:00AM to 12:00PM EDT. Entitled Mixed Methods Data from the Stanford Civic Purpose Study, this workshop will provide a unique opportunity to learn about mixed methods and secondary data analysis within the context of The Stanford Civic Purpose Project. The project produced quantitative and qualitative data, shared through the CivicLEADS archive. Study investigators Heather Malin and William Damon will discuss the mixed methods used in the Stanford Civic Purpose Project. Dr. Malin will describe the study’s conceptualization, methodologies, and data collection. Members of their research team will lead group discussions regarding the potential for secondary analysis.
While researchers at all levels are welcome and will benefit from this course, graduate students and early career scholars will find the training especially beneficial. Participants are encouraged to bring laptops and to download the Stanford Civic Purpose Project data and documentation in preparation for the course.
