Information about SAMHDA restricted-use and public-use data

As of August 21, 2015, the Substance Abuse and Mental Health Services Administration (SAMHSA) contracted with a different vendor to distribute the restricted-use data from the National Survey on Drug Use and Health (NSDUH), restricted-use data from the Drug Abuse Warning Network (DAWN), and other SAMHDA restricted-use data. ICPSR continues to distribute public-use files created by the SAMHDA project as well as providing access to over 1,200 restricted-use data collections, including through the popular and high-quality ICPSR Virtual Data Enclave (VDE).

Users interested in drug abuse data should search the <a href="">NAHDAP catalog</a>. Users also interested in mental health data should search the <a href="">ICPSR catalog</a>.

Online analysis versions of the SAMHDA public-use data are also available for all studies that had them available on the previous SAMHDA website.
