As a member of ICPSR's Governing Council and a Professor at UW-Madison, Courtney Bell helps promote ICPSR resources on campus and assists data users in locating, downloading, and working with ICPSR data. Get to know Courtney:

Where do you work and what is your job title?

UW-Madison Professor and WCER Director

What is a favorite memory or instance you have working with ICPSR? What makes ICPSR a great place?

I have a vivid memory of being in the council meeting room talking about how to do large-scale video data collection and archiving with experts from around the world. ICPSR is always at the leading edge of social science research.

What is your favorite part of working with ICPSR?

Collaborating with smart, humble, fun, hard-working people who have the public good at the center of their concerns.

How long have you worked with ICPSR?

16 years

What do you do when not at work?

read, cook, meditate, run, lift, hike, listen to music, and spend time with family and friends
