What is your ICPSR Job Title?

Marketing and Communications Intern

What is a favorite memory or instance you have working at ICPSR? What makes ICPSR a great place to work?

One of my favorite memories while working with ICPSR was when I worked on a big multi-step project aimed at reducing the number of meetings at ICPSR. I had the privilege of conducting a survey, writing a white paper, developing strategies, and providing recommendations to rectify the issue. This project saved us countless meeting hours and gave me the skills to effectively manage a project.  What makes ICPSR a great place is its inclusivity, creativity, and commitment to education and making valuable data accessible to everyone.

Where are you from?

Ypsilanti, Michigan

What is your favorite part of your job?

My favorite part about working at ICPSR is the high level of autonomy in the work. I’m given the freedom to be creative and hands-on, with continuous learning opportunities and room for implementation.

How long have you worked here?

I’m currently in my second year as a summer intern at ICPSR, working from June to August.

What do you do when not at work?

When I’m not working, you can catch me at your local Barnes & Noble, where I’m usually found in the Psychology and Self-Help section. Though I do enjoy a good fiction book from time to time. Photography is a passion of mine. I also love going on runs, and I’m a pretty mean badminton player. Plus, I enjoy hanging out with my family and friends and spending time with my partner.

What have you read/viewed/listened to/etc. recently?

I’m currently reading Relentless by Tim Grover and enjoying Robert Greene’s The Laws of Human Nature. I’ve been devouring podcasts and videos of business owners and content creators Alex and Leila Hormozi. I’m also keeping an eye on the Paris Olympics closely—I love sports and can’t wait to see the amazing events that will take place.

What might surprise us about you?

A surprising fact about me is that I’m actually a published writer. I specialize in poetry, vignettes, and narrative essays, and I stick to a submission schedule every Sunday to send my work to various publications.
