New Data Alert: Art Museum Director and Black Trustee Surveys
The National Archive of Data on Arts and Culture (NADAC), funded by the National Endowment for the Arts (NEA), is thrilled to announce the release of two new ITHAKA S+R art museum surveys as part of our Art Museum Demographic Surveys Series! These studies complement the previously released data from ITHAKA’s Art Museum Staff Demographic Survey.
- Art Museum Director Survey (2020 & 2022)
The two waves of the Art Museum Director Survey capture U.S. art museum directors' perspectives on strategy, leadership, budgeting, staffing, public engagement, collections care, fiscal health, and organizational management from pre- to post-pandemic. - Art Museum Black Trustee Survey (2022)
This survey gathers data from museum board members, focusing on the experiences of Black trustees. It includes trustee demographics, board member experiences, committee assignments, and recruitment and onboarding processes.
