Discount on Sociometrics Social Science Electronic Data Library available to ICPSR members

Sociometrics has updated its Social Science Electronic Library Data (SSEDL) web site and is offering new discounts for ICPSR members. The site has a new look and an easier to use search system, including searches for studies and variables by keyword. Users can also view a matrix of variables by variable topic and type, with links to each variable's metadata. In the Fall, SSEDL will be adding more user-friendly features, such as search filtering by several key filters including year, investigator, and methodology, and making DDI 3.1 study level metadata available for download.

Sociometrics now offers SSEDL subscribers the option to purchase a perpetual license to the SSEDL datasets. For more information on the terms of the perpetual license, click here. A perpetual license to the SSEDL data sets normally sells for a one-time fee of $10,000, but SSEDL subscribers who are ICPSR members can get 25 percent off this price.

Offer 3: Free Online Workshop on SSEDL 
A free online workshop (webinar) entitled Introduction to the Sociometrics Social Science Electronic Data Library will be offered from 2-3 p.m. EST, Nov. 9.
