ICPSR Council Member Sayeed Choudhury honored by OCLC and ALA

Sayeed Choudhury of Johns Hopkins University, an ICPSR Council Member since 2010, has been named winner of the Frederick G. Kilgour Award for Research in Library and Information Technology.

The award is jointly sponsored by the library cooperative OCLC and the Library and Information Technology Association, a division of the American Library Association. The honor is given for research relevant to the advancement of information technologies with potentially positive impact on publication, storage, retrieval, and dissemination of information.

The award sponsors cited Choudhury's leadership in data curation through the NSF-funded Data Conservancy project, which promotes data curation infrastructure across disciplines, and for his impact in applying the principles of librarianship to the curation and preservation of digital data.
