ICPSR's A.J. Million to Co-Host Open Science & Preregistration Session at American Society of Criminology Annual Meeting

ICPSR's A.J. Million will be co-hosting a roundtable on "Preregistration and Criminology - Do Existing Services Meet Community Needs?" on Nov. 19, 2021, at the annual meeting of the American Society of Criminology (ASC) in Chicago.

Organized by Million of the National Archive of Criminal Justice Data (NACJD at ICPSR), Frances Abderhalden of California State University - Los Angeles, and DEC representatives Barak Ariel and Jordan Hyatt, this roundtable will:

  • Introduce problems relating to study replication in criminology

  • Present preregistration as one solution

  • Discuss where the field is headed, whether peer-review is broken, the potential for preregistration to fix problems, and if available preregistration services meet community needs
