China Data Center offers demonstration at Association for Asian Studies conference

The China Data Center at ICPSR invites anyone attending the Association for Asian Studies conference in San Diego this week to a special demonstration of its new Spatial Explorer of Religion service.

The demonstration will be held from 2-3:30 p.m. on Wednesday, March 21, in the Betsy A room of the Manchester Grand Hyatt San Diego hotel. The Spatial Explorer of Religion allows for analysis of religion in China using GIS data.

Sponsored by the China Data Center and the Center for Chinese Religion at Purdue University, the event will include an overview of the service by Shuming Bao of the China Data Center; a presentation of a case study on the shortage of Christian churches in four provinces by George Hong of Purdue University Calumet; and a presentation on religious change in Shanghai over the past century by Xiulin Sun of Shanghai University.
