ICPSR Posts Guidelines for OSTP Data Access Plans
ICPSR has posted a new "Guidelines for OSTP Data Access Plan" page to support federal funding agencies affected by the February 2013 White House Office of Science and Technology Policy (OSTP) memo. The page provides an overview of each requirement laid out in the memo, and discusses why they matter and the key issues to consider when formulating plans.
ICPSR stresses that standards and guidelines currently exist for many of the requirements outlined in the OSTP memo. We also stress that existing specialized, long-lived, and sustainable repositories can mediate between the needs of scientific disciplines and data preservation requirements.
