- ICPSR Research Paper Competition -- For papers on any topic using data from the ICPSR General Archiveor Thematic Collections. Awards: $1,000 for first place, $750 for second place. There are separate undergraduate and master's prizes for this competition.
- RCMD Research Paper Competition -- For papers on issues relating to minorities in the United States, including immigrants, using data from the Resource Center for Minority Data. Awards: $1,000 for first-place award, and $750 for second-place award. Entrants must be current undergraduate students or recent graduates of bachelor's degree programs.
- IFSS Research Paper Competition -- For papers on any topic using data from the Integrated Fertility Survey Series. Awards: $1,000 for a single first-place award, $750 for a single second-place award. There are not separate awards for undergraduates and master's students.
- NAHDAP Research Paper Competition -- This is a new category added for 2014, for papers on issues relating to drug addiction or HIV using data from the National Addiction and HIV Data Archive Program. Awards: $1,000 for a single first-place award, $750 for a single second-place award. There are not separate awards for undergraduates, master's students, or PhD students.
