New RCMD Article Provides Insights from Researcher Ruben Rumbaut

The Resource Center for Minority Data (RCMD) at ICPSR is pleased to make available a new article based on an in-depth interview with Ruben G. Rumbaut, professor of sociology at University of California, Irvine, and a Principal Investigator of the Children of Immigrants Longitudinal Study (CILS) [ICPSR Study 20520].

Rumbaut explains how the CILS began and comments on its objectives and major findings -- providing useful advice for other researchers who are attempting to analyze the data. He also gives his thoughts on several other topics, including:

  • Reasons he deposited research data with ICPSR/RCMD
  • Applying the research experience in the classroom
