New Data: Self-Perceptions of Creativity & Arts Participation
The National Archive of Data on Arts and Culture (NADAC) is pleased to announce the release of data from the national survey: Self-Perceptions of Creativity & Arts Participation. The survey public-use data and documentation files are available for download and online analysis.
The dataset provides a unique opportunity to understand and measure the ways American adults experience and exercise creativity in their daily lives in its many different forms and expressions, examine the relationships between arts participation and other types of creativity, and explore conditions that can impact one’s ability to express creativity.
Initial results from the survey are presented in a working paper by Jennifer Novak-Leonard, formerly of Northwestern University, and Megan Robinson, Vanderbilt University. The paper is one of a series associated with a NEA Research Lab that studied the arts’ relationship to creativity, cognition, and learning.
