NACJD releases Survey of Youth in Residential Placement (SYRP)

The National Archive of Criminal Justice Data (NACJD) is pleased to announce the release of the Survey of Youth in Residential Placement (SYRP) 2003, ICPSR study 34304. 

 

Sponsored by the Offi­ce of Juvenile Justice and Delinquency Prevention (OJJDP), the Survey of Youth in Residential Placement (SYRP) is the only national survey that gathers data directly from youth in the juvenile justice system. SYRP surveys offender youth between the ages of 10 and 20 and asks about their backgrounds, offense histories and problems, the facility environment, experiences in the facility,  experiences with alcohol and drugs,  experiences of victimization in placement,  medical needs and services received and their expectations for the future. 

 

The data are restricted from general dissemination. Users interested in obtaining these data must complete a Restricted Data Use Agreement form and specify the reasons for the request. Please see the study home page for more information about the study and access.
