2024 Data Added to Consumer Expenditure Survey Summary Tables

The National Archive of Data on Arts and Culture (NADAC), funded by the National Endowment for the Arts (NEA), has released a 2024 update to the Consumer Expenditure Survey (CES) Summary Tables. These tables support analysis of U.S. consumer expenditures on cultural activities, including trend tracking, benchmarking, and evidence-based planning. The updated tables are now available for free download on the NADAC Website.

About Consumer Expenditure Survey
The Consumer Expenditure Survey is conducted by the U.S. Bureau of Labor Statistics (BLS) and the U.S. Census Bureau and provides comprehensive insights into consumer spending patterns. The survey covers a wide range of cultural activities and spending categories, including:
- Admissions to plays, theater, opera, concerts, movies, parks, and museums
- Spending on newspapers, magazines, printed and digital books
- Spending on other arts-related items such as musical instruments, photographic equipment, and audio-visual equipment
