Consumer Healthcare Experience State Surveys (CHESS) Series

Altarum's Consumer Healthcare Experience State Survey (CHESS) and Medical Debt Survey are designed to elicit respondents' unbiased views on a wide range of health system issues, including confidence in using the health system, financial burden, medical debt, and views on fixes that might be needed. The surveys use a web panel from Dynata with a demographically balanced sample of approximately 1,500 respondents who live in a targeted state. The surveys were conducted in English or Spanish and restricted to adults ages 18 and older.
