The Arts and Cultural Production Satellite Account: New Statistics for 2018 and 2019

This webinar was recorded on May 19, 2021, and features Section Chief Paul Kern with the United States Bureau of Economic Analysis (BEA). The webinar is hosted by the National Archive of Data on Arts & Culture (NADAC), a data repository funded by the National Endowment for the Arts (NEA). Participants will get an overview of the ACPSA, learn about key findings from the latest 2019 data, and discover ways ACPSA can be used in arts research. Finally, participants will learn about the ACPSA resources available on the NEA and NADAC websites and have the opportunity to ask questions.

About Paul V. Kern: Paul Kern is a manager with the BEA where he oversees the production of the annual and benchmark input-output accounts, monthly and quarterly estimates of PCE Services, the travel and tourism accounts, the arts and cultural production account, and the original work on the outdoor recreation satellite account.

About ACPSA: The Arts and Cultural Production Satellite Account is produced through the partnership between the BEA and the National Endowment for the Arts (NEA). Built with the BEA’s input-output (I-O) accounts, the ACPSA provides detailed statistics that illustrate the impact of arts and cultural production on the United States economy. Specifically, this account provides an assessment of the arts and cultural sector’s contributions to gross domestic product (GDP).
