Biography:

Daniel Nagin is the Teresa and H. John Heinz III University Professor of Public Policy and Statistics. He received his Ph.D. from Carnegie Mellon University in Urban and Public Affairs in 1976. Nagin teaches statistics at CMU's Heinz College and his research interests include statistical methods for analysis of longitudinal data, the developmental origins of violent and criminal behavior, and the deterrent effect of criminal sanctions.
