Biography:

William G. Jacoby is Director of the ICPSR Summer Program in Quantitative Methods of Social Research. He is also a Professor of Political Science at Michigan State University and a Research Scientist at the University of Michigan. Professor Jacoby received his Ph.D. from the University of North Carolina at Chapel Hill. His areas of specialization are mass political behavior and quantitative methodology. His substantive research focuses on ideology and personal value choices in public opinion and voting behavior. His methodological interests include measurement theory, scaling methods, and statistical graphics.
