Louise Corti is an Associate Director and heads the UK Data Service areas of Collections Development and Producer Relations. Her team has recently developed robust appraisal policies and criteria for incoming data and is currently working to secure access to new data sources in the 'big data' arena. In the Producer Relations area, her team supports ESRC grant applicants and awards holders in their data management and sharing responsibilities and has developed a new self-ingest system based on Eprints. Louise has led grants on research data management and is an author of the new Sage handbook Managing and Sharing Research Data: a Guide for Researchers. She has pioneered qualitative data archiving since the early 1990s, leading the Qualidata unit, and is now PI on a new ESRC Digital Futures project building an online qualitative data browser and bringing together digitally enhanced older data sources with high profile users. She also coordinates the international working group on metadata standards for qualitative data.
